| The Mechanics of a Standard Bestway Shed: | |
|
We believe a shed is only as strong as its foundation. Our Sheds are leveled right on your site with solid cement block. Other companies use a hollow block that will break down over time. Your floor is built right off these blocks, starting with treated 4x4 skids. Our 8'-10' wide buildings are built with treated 2x4 studs every 16 inches. Many other shed companies use untreated studs or 24" on-center joists. Even better, our 12' wide and larger sheds come standard with treated 2x6 floor studs for additional support. All of our standard sheds come with treated 3/4" plywood flooring, the optimal floor sheeting for your outdoor building. Others use untreated 5/8" or 1/2" plywood or OSB- flooring that will rot over time, and is not made to be used for extended periods outdoors. Our plywood can withstand the elements, as well as the weight of the belongings you would like to store.

Bestway uses only the best materials in our shed construction. Our walls are built with 2x4 studs, 16 inches on center, unlike the competition that uses 2x3 studs 24" on center. The wood siding on our buildings comes primed with a 50-year manufacturer's warranty against rot, mildew, and insects, and far outlives T1-11 composite siding. The vinyl we use comes from the best vinyl companies available, and we offer a variety of colors and styles to match your home, including beaded vinyl siding.
Our Standard sheds come with 7' walls, where as most other places you will usually find a standard 6' or 6'5". We currently offer 8' walls for $50, and 9' walls on vinyl and lap siding sheds for an added charge. This height also allows us to build our lofts at the perfect height- right above the window, so that you can walk underneath without bumping your head, and also have extra loft room above. The rafters are built with plywood clips and wood gussets ever two feet, using 2x4's for 8'-10' wide sheds, and 2x6's on 12' wide and larger buildings. Again, other companies use 2x3 rafters. | |

Even the smallest details matter. We aim to give you the strongest building possible, even down to the hardware. Our doors are hung on 6' piano hinges, not small strap hinges, so your doors won't sag. Our wood doors are custom-made with 50-year wood siding, and we use full sized metal house doors on our vinyl and lap siding buildings- both come with this great hinge, a set of barrel bolts, and a locking T-handle. For venting, we use ridge vent for maximum air flow. Most other companies use small gable vents, or no vents at all. We also offer a 6" eave on our standard buildings, and some styles offer even more- like our Quaker or beveled styes which have overhangs of 12"-16". The eaves also come with drip edge to help protect the roof sheathing against rot and moisture- another feature many other sheds lack. Boxed eaves with vents are also available. For the roof, we use a 25-year shingle with your choice of 10 colors. Dimensional lifetime shingles are also available as an option, with even more colors to choose from.
